Description   Vapor Line Process Challenge Device The Vapor Line Reusable Steam Sterilization Process Challenge Test is a process challenge device for use in prevacuum steam sterilization processes at 134°C. Regular use of the PCD during sterilization cycles helps to insure adequate penetration of steam in wrapped or unwrapped solid, porous and hollow instrument loads. Regular use of the PCD during sterilization cycles helps to insure adequate penetration of steam in wrapped or unwrapped solid, porous and hollow instrument loads. Details: The Vapor Line PCD consists of a metal capsule with a removable cap equipped with a plastic holder for the Propper Vapor Line Integrator. The capsule is connected to a special lumen whose coiled configuration helps control steam penetration into the device. During the sterilization cycle, the open end of the lumen is the only means by which residual air can exit and steam can enter the metal capsule where the integrator is located. This path presents a sibnificant challenge to steam penetration. The integrator display will indicate whether all the conditions necessary for sterilization have been met.
